The European MBA Career Fair on April 26, 2010

The European MBA Career Fair is a joint initiative of two of the leading  business schools in Germany: GISMA Business School and HHL – Leipzig Graduate School of Management. Participating Business Schools are Audencia Nantes (F), MIP Politecnico di Milano (I), Warwick Business School (UK), and Goethe Business School (D). The first European MBA Career Fair originates from the MBA Career Fair that was taking place in April 2009 for the sixth time. In 2010 the fair was even more international and was an excellent chance for companies that recruit international MBA graduates.

First-Class Management Education

The MBA programs of the participating business schools are all AACSB and/or EQUIS accredited. These seals of approval are awarded by the globally recognized accreditation agencies following independent examination of program quality according to strict criteria. This guarantees top international management education.

MBA Graduates

A good first degree in a diversity of fields and several years of appropriate work experience are two traits which set apart our graduates. Through the MBA course of study they expand their management knowledge and qualify themselves for positions in higher management at an international level. Focal point of the MBA programs is transmitting business knowledge which is current and based on academic research. In addition, we also place emphasis on practicability, internationality and intercultural thinking and attitude. All programs are taught in English.

"In just 10 short hours, the MBA Career Fair enabled me to get acquainted with over 15 companies of interest while also making a few good impressions of myself as a potential employee. Thanks to the Resume Book sent out by GISMA beforehand, seven participating companies had already invited me to come and see them at the fair for an interview. While fellow students of mine were busy promoting themselves in workshops and at company stands, I was rushing from one interview to the next. In the end, all the effort paid off: I was invited to five follow-up interviews, and ultimately decided to take up an offer from Johnson & Johnson – a company whose internationality, corporate culture and advancement opportunities are a perfect match for my wishes."

Hubertus Schulze-Zumkley, GISMA alumnus, MBA 2007, Johnson & Johnson

"In the same way that it is difficult for employers to get an accurate impression of a candidate from a CV, it is challenging for a candidate to get a proper impression of a company, its culture and daily business, from a website. Because of this, the career fair was key for me in finding the best fit for my next step after the MBA. From personal encounters with company representatives it was much easier to assess whether or not I would blend easily into the corporate culture and if the company and its open positions would meet my expectations. I had the opportunity to take part in a two-hour workshop with one company where I got a closer look at their core business and working style, plus it was an opportunity for me to demonstrate the skills that I bring from previous experience and newly from the MBA. Ultimately we were a good fit and I am celebrating my 14th month in my new career, this is thanks to our introduction at the fair."
